Packaging

The Jobe’s Company

In 2009, The Phillips Agency was chosen to redesign packaging for the Jobe’s Organics brand of granular fertilizers. A highly successful redesign led to many more package design assignments for the Jobe’s brand. Over a period of six years, TPA created packaging for some 135 Jobe’s products, winning back-to-back Addy awards along the way, and setting a sleek new design standard for fertilizer packaging in the lawn and garden industry.

Easy Gardener Products

Easy Gardener manufactures lawn and garden products that provide great results with less work. Since 1998, The Phillips Agency has created packaging, merchandisers, instructional videos, radio advertising and promotions for dozens of Easy Gardener products. TPA also designed the identity for EGP, as well as many of the company’s brands.

Blue Magic

Blue Magic is a leading manufacturer of appearance and repair products for the automotive aftermarket including cleaners, polishes, air fresheners and sealants. Starting in 2006, The Phillips Agency rebranded and repositioned the company as the maker of “Products That Perform.” All automotive packaging was redesigned in retro chrome-look cans and bottles to appeal to do-it-yourself car enthusiasts. In 2011 when Blue Magic introduced a full line of wheel and tire care products, TPA designed the packaging and created the promotional and advertising support required to launch the line.

Johnsen’s

Technical Chemical Company has manufactured the Johnsen’s line of automotive performance chemicals and refrigerants for 55 years. In 2013, the company began an aggressive campaign to expand its market share in both the consumer and trade categories. TPA was hired to redesign packaging for its entire product line. Since a large percentage of the target market is Hispanic, each package featured two primary display panels—one in English and one in Spanish. Trade shows, online and print advertising, retail displays and dealer promotions were part of the marketing mix to create a higher profile for the Johnsen’s brand.
